7th Annual International High Containment Biosafety Workshop Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health

The 7th Annual International High Containment Biosafety Workshop was held at the Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health (CSCHAH) during the week of May 4-9, 2008.

The workshop was a co-presentation of the Public Health Agency of Canada, and the International Centre for Infectious Diseases, along with Smith Carter Architects and Engineers Inc. and the Center for Public Health Preparedness and Research of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.

This rigorous five-day course allowed participants to work hands-on in the special containment and facility support areas of the CSCHAH. It addressed the increasing needs of biosafety professionals, facility operators and managers for advanced training in critical aspects of biocontainment.

This year’s workshop attracted broad international participation with 24 delegates arriving from Canada, U.S., Singapore, India, China, Mexico, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Kenya.
