Bloodborne Pathogens & Hepatitis

This section has participated as a proficiency panel member of the Laboratory Proficiency Testing Program (LPTP) conducted by the Ontario Medical Association.  This laboratory has also initiated, and is continuing to enhance, a laboratory and strain surveillance program for HBV and HCV.  In addition, research scientists have developed tests for the detection of potential bloodborne pathogens such as TTV, HHV8, and Parvovirus B19.
